The Royal Dog Protection and Kentaa make every effort to prevent defects on this website as much as possible and to resolve them as quickly as possible. Kentaa is dependent on third parties for its services, such as hosting and payment providers and the interfaces (API) of social networks.

General Terms

The Dogs for Dogs Walk is a fundraising event. The goal is to raise as much sponsorship money as possible for the benefit of the Royal Dog Protection Association. With the proceeds, Dog Protection can take care of older and vulnerable dogs. You can actively participate in the Dogs for Dogs Walk as a participant or volunteer. All participants can choose from 3 distances to walk, 5, 10 or 20 km.

If the location of the event is too far away, you can also register to walk from home.

The Royal Dog Protection Association has asked an external event manager to help it with the production and organization of the Dogs for Dogs Walk.

There is a registration fee associated with event participation. The registration fee is €14.95. Each participant must register separately. Each participant receives a personal e-ticket. This ticket gives the participant access to the walk and the event area.

If a participant does not participate in the event in Baarn but works from home, a participant will receive a goodie bag and a medal after the event if at least €100 in sponsorship money has been raised.

By registering, the participant unconditionally agrees to the contents of these general terms and conditions and the participant regulations.

Deviations from the provisions of these conditions are only binding if and insofar as the organizer has expressly agreed to this in writing.

The general terms and conditions of third parties are expressly rejected by the organizer.

Liability of the Dog Protection Association and the organization of the Dogs for Dogs Walk

The organizer is not obliged to fulfill any obligation if the event has to be cancelled, moved or shortened due to force majeure. Force majeure also includes, but is not limited to, all external causes over which the organizer has no influence. These causes include, among other things, the circumstance that third parties engaged by the organizer do not meet their obligations or do not meet them on time, epidemics, extreme weather conditions, road blocks or strikes.

If the event has to be canceled due to force majeure before it has started, costs incurred by the participant in connection with the event, the registration fee and the donated funds cannot be reclaimed.

If the event has to be moved due to force majeure, the registration will remain valid for the new date on which the event will take place. If the participant is unable or unwilling to participate in the event on this date, he is entitled to withdraw his registration from the organizer. Costs incurred by the participant in connection with the event, the registration fee and the donated funds cannot be reclaimed.

The organization is under no circumstances liable for traffic accidents, other accidents or damage or loss and/or theft of personal objects of participants and other visitors.

Participation is at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law, the organizer is not liable for any damage, however named, that the participant may suffer as a result of participation, unless this damage can be attributed to intent or gross negligence on the part of the organization.

If liability of the organizer for damage to the participant is established in law, the obligation of the organizer to compensate that damage will be limited to a maximum of the amount that the organizer's insurer pays out in respect of that damage.

If the organizer, despite the fact that it has been established that he is not liable, still decides to compensate the participant for damage out of goodwill, this cannot be seen as an admission of liability/responsibility.
The participant indemnifies the organizer against damage that third parties may suffer as a result of an act or omission attributable to the participant with regard to the event. The participant must be adequately insured against the risk of liability for the damage referred to.

Sponsors of the event and the municipalities in which the event takes place are excluded from liability on the same basis as the organizer.

Disputes between the organizer and the participant will be settled by arbitration, to the exclusion of the civil court, in accordance with the regulations of the Netherlands Arbitration Institute. A dispute is deemed to exist if either party declares that this is the case. Unless otherwise agreed, the costs of arbitration will be borne by the party who is found to be in the wrong.

Other rules for participation

The minimum age for participation is 18 years. Team members under the age of 18 may only participate together with one of the parents/guardian and the organization and under the responsibility of their parents/guardian or supervisors designated by them

Participants agree and give permission for the free use of their likeness in print, photo, film, video, etc. for promotional purposes of the organization up to five years after participation in the event.

Participant and/or his dog will not be medically examined by the organizer. Participant declares that he and participating dog are sufficiently healthy to participate in the event. Participants are responsible for vaccinations of the participating dogs. A participating dog must be vaccinated. Dogs with kennel cough are excluded from participating in the event.

There are three routes to walk. Any healthy dog ​​of at least 12 months old may walk the five-kilometre route on a leash. The ten kilometer route may be walked by dogs that are at least 18 months old. The twenty kilometer route may be walked by dogs that are at least 24 months old. If you have any doubts about whether your dog can handle the routes, you should seek advice from your veterinarian in advance.

All sponsorship funds acquired or raised by the participant and all donations received will be in favor of the organizer and are intended for the care of seniors and vulnerable dogs by the Royal Dog Protection Association.

Participant is responsible for ensuring that all sponsorship fees/donations for the event are paid to the organizer and that all sponsorship forms are completed correctly and completely.

If the participant decides, for whatever reason, to no longer participate in the event, a refund of the registration fee and the sponsorship money collected by the participant is not possible. Any other costs incurred by the participant will not be reimbursed. Even if the distance for which you have registered changes, no refund of sponsorship money, or part thereof, will take place. It is possible, if there is an available place, to change the distance without additional costs.

The organization may decide to cancel, prematurely end or suspend the event due to exceptional circumstances. The organizer may also decide, on the basis of exceptional circumstances, to change the route to be walked by the participant and his dog, or the distance to be covered. In such cases, the registration fee and sponsorship money will not be refunded.

Participants in the event must adhere to all rules, instructions and regulations stated in these general terms and conditions and participant regulations, on the website and/or given and/or communicated in writing on the day of the event by employees of the organization.

Specific conditions route 5km, 10 km and 20km

You can register until Saturday September 28, 2024, or until the number of available places has been reached.

You can participate both individually and as a team. A team consists of at least two participants. The organization reserves the right to split large teams.

If teams or individual participants do not participate, withdraw from the event or are disqualified for any reason, the sponsorship money raised will not be refunded to donors.

The walk takes place on public roads/paths.

Everyone must at all times adhere to the generally applicable rules of public space.

The routes are indicated by arrows but are not marked off.

It is free to start per distance in the time block determined per distance. If a participant has not completed the distance after the end of the event, there is a chance that the participant will not receive a goodie bag and medal.

COVID-19

The organizer would like to continue the Dogs for Dogs Walk 2024 edition, but only in a responsible and safe manner. The Dogs for Dogs Walk can be moved to another date in 2024 and depending on corona developments, the number of routes can be adjusted, distances can be adjusted, the maximum number of participants (whether or not per route) can be adjusted and there can be additional rules apply to the participants. If this is not sufficient to comply with all the rules and/or guarantee the safety of the participants, the organizer can still decide to move or cancel the 2024 edition of Dogs for Dogs Walk. Participant who is unwilling or unable to comply with the then applicable COVID-19 rules for participation will be denied participation and access to the event. The sponsorship proceeds already received at that time will not be refunded and, in accordance with the intention, will simply go to the charity: the Royal Dog Protection.

The Royal Dog Protection makes every effort to respect the rights to texts, photos, illustrations, maps, other graphic material, (trade) names, brands, logos and databases. The copyrights, trademark rights and/or any other intellectual property rights of the material or right eligible for protection belong to the company that uses this material or right. If photos, illustrations and the like are uploaded tohondenvoorhondenloop.nl by an action starter, participant or project leader, the action starter, participant or project leader is responsible for respecting the copyrights of third parties on that material.
